The overall planning of the hospital is based on the traditional Chinese layout of “four directions and eight faces”, taking into account the friendly city interface in the east, south, west, and north directions. In addition, the four dimensions of building corner treatment are added, symbolizing the smooth sailing of the project in the future. The main functions include outpatient area, emergency area, medical technology area, comprehensive ward area, scientific research and teaching office area, and characteristic specialty area, each with independent and non interfering entrances and exits. The functional areas are connected by a medical street and multiple auxiliary transportation corridors on the ground, and the basements are orderly connected. Each area is separated into separate zones, but has convenient connections. There is sufficient reserved land on the west side, and it can be flexibly arranged on the left side of the plot in combination with the mountain.
The planning and design scheme of the project aims to respect the natural terrain and landforms, and combines the preserved mountains on the west side of the site to construct a combined landscape and healthcare solution. The design adopts modernist design techniques and interweaves design elements of Chinese gardens, drawing design inspiration from the mountain form. The overall scheme is dynamic and imbued with the spirit of the place, forming the concept of a landscape hospital and shaping the spatial characteristics of “green mountains hidden in the city and scenery”. The program has a centralized layout of medical functions such as outpatient clinics, medical technology, and wards which is convenient and efficient.
