Mengyu Zhao is a licensed architect in New York State, an active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and a LEED AP BD+C. She is an architect at Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF) in New York City and the co-founder of the award-winning design studio TrayStudio.
She holds a Master of Architecture from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Architecture from Tsinghua University. Her professional experience includes major international projects such as San Diego International Airport (Gensler), Singapore Changi Airport (KPF), and Beijing Baiziwan Social Housing (MAD), which have been featured in outlets including CNN, NBC, Dezeen, and ArchDaily.
Her work has received several international honors, including the Buildner Sustainability Award, Gold in the International Design Awards, and Gold in the Muse Awards.
Zhao is also an artist whose work has been exhibited at the Art in Odd Places: New York Public Art Festival and the CICA Museum in South Korea, and featured in media outlets including Artnet, ELLE China, and China Daily.
