Biomas: a multisensory experience in an exclusive porcelain tile collection
Transformation, resilience, and sensations are words that define the new launches of the Biomas Collection, a partnership between Decortiles and Atelier Marko Brajovic. Exploring the natural richness of Brazil, the new series translate the essence of Brazilian biomes into exclusive porcelain tiles, with pigments that reflect the colors, textures, and sensations of each biome.
“We want to bring the Biomas into the cities. We hope this collection touches people emotionally, recognizing biophilia as a synesthetic element of human connection with the urban aspect,” concludes Brajovic.
Pantanal: the softness of the waters
The Pantanal is a biome in constant transformation, where waters and lands merge into a unique ecosystem filled with life. Inspired by the softness of the waters, the submerged greens, and the fluid boundaries of its flooded plains, the Pantanal series brings a relief that simulates the intermittent “corixos” (water channels), characteristic of the floods. The subtle shine of the piece recalls the shimmering lagoons that permeate the landscape.
Cerrado: the resilience of the land
With landscapes of rare beauty and surprising biodiversity, the Cerrado is a biome of contrasts, where aridity and exuberance coexist in perfect harmony. Inspired by the thick bark of twisted trees, the Cerrado series brings textures that evoke the resilience of the flora, reminiscent of the biome’s adaptations.
Atlantic Forest: the richness of sensations
Encompassing an impressive diversity of ecosystems, the Atlantic Forest reveals its exuberance in forms, colors, and textures. Inspired by the mountains covered by dense forests and by the moss that envelops river stones, the exclusive Decortiles series features velvety surfaces that evoke the biome’s constant humidity.
