The interior design was conceived with the same intention as Chablé Resort & Spa: creating the contemporary lifestyle of the Mayan aristocracy, which is inconceivable without considering the land, climate, and nature of Yucatán. It’s a dialogue with the jungle, allowing it to enter the house without invading it. The residence is conceived as an open space to enjoy with friends and family.
The color palette is neutral, based on cenote green, water blue, and navy blue. Each of the chosen materials follows the philosophy of awakening the senses and providing the feeling of barefoot elegance, a taste that is enjoyed from comfort and lightness.
Therefore, the floors are made of natural stones: Fiorito marble, granite, Taj Mahal, and pressed sand with quartz. The walls are finished with chukúm, a local material created by boiling the root of the chukúm tree to create a paste with a soft and fresh touch. All the woods selected are regional: tzalam, cumaru, and tornillo, with a natural wax finish. The hardness of these woods makes them durable and resistant.
The textiles are natural, with a linen base complemented by cotton and batiste. The cushions and decorative accents express local artisans’ work, applied in luxury materials such as raw silk, linen, and cotton, elevating local craftsmanship to an art level.
The hallways and terraces of each house become an open gallery with artworks by contemporary Mexican artists. The pieces are made in materials that blend with the surroundings, such as high-temperature ceramics.
