In 2021, our company sought a new office after our previous lease ended. While relocation was inevitable, our goal was to preserve our organizational identity—culture, lifestyle, and operations—despite the new environment. Our former office, a quiet, green oasis in Bangkok’s CBD, contrasted sharply with the new, vibrant city center. This diverse urban core, pulsating with cultural energy and dynamic lifestyles, posed a pivotal design challenge: how to create a new space that harmonizes with this dynamism without sacrificing our original spirit? This question became our project’s foundational architectural concept.
The “IMPERMANENCE ARCHITECTURE” concept shapes the building and user experience. A welcoming sidewalk leads to a green transition space, flowing from the façade inward. This seamlessly blends exterior and interior, reinterpreting our former tranquil context.
Inside, the reception’s natural stone symbolizes a tree trunk’s core, perpetually shedding bark to embrace impermanence. Users find open, adaptable spaces embraced by greenery and authentic materials. A demountable steel structure further reinforces this concept of adaptability.
The FAÇADE, acting as the building’s “garment,” expresses its identity and reflects the diverse urban context with continuous glass. Its peak, an “imperfect crown,” symbolizes architecture’s fluid journey along the skyline. This irregular, dynamically formed crown with dissolving edges emphasizes impermanence. Ultimately, this design interprets the city’s diverse and impermanent nature, enabling the building to endure harmoniously through all urban transformations.
