A garden surrounded by forest in the Leningrad region, in the Karelian landscape.
We tried to use monochrome plantings: perennials, clumps of mountain pines, rhododendrons and Ginnala maples with openwork crowns. Curtains of evergreens were placed on the site to limit the garden from neighbors and the road. There is an elevation on the site. To emphasize it, we built a retaining wall, dividing the planting and lawn into levels. The main paths are made of sawn gabbro slabs, a typical Karelian material, with heat treatment. The hearth area deserves special attention. The crossing of the water surface with lighting, a gas fireplace and upholstered furniture create a cozy corner for relaxation.
