GAA.2024 Bronze Winner | Landscape

The site’s elevation change was a key feature. The house terrace was elevated above the garden, accentuated with geoplastics and perennial compositions. A gazebo on one level created visual focal points and new perspectives, allowing multi-sided access to the lower garden and adding spatial depth.

Despite the compact size, several functional zones were designed. A central water feature with a cascading weir, mist, and fountains introduced movement and a tranquil acoustic backdrop for relaxation. The project includes a fire pit area, decorative vegetable garden, and a gazebo, all harmoniously integrated into the house’s architectural axis. Orthogonal lines structure the space, but native blueberries and lingonberries ensure natural, organic transitions.

Nearly the entire plot is landscaped with perennials and groundcovers for immersive natural immersion. Small lawn areas emphasize an organic feel, blending the property with surrounding nature while reducing maintenance and preserving a neat, effortless appearance.
